(VIDEO): Watch Hakim Ziyech Red Card Scene as Referee overturns it to Yellow Card

TOT Vs CHE: Why The Referee Made A Big Mistake By Changing Ziyech’s Red Card To A Yellow Card
Football has laws and principles guiding it and if any of these is breached, justice should prevail smoothly. Hakim Ziyech and Referee Stuart Attwell have been involved in a controversial moment in today’s game between Chelsea and Tottenham in North London where the Chelsea star was lucky to have his Red card changed to a Yellow card.
Both teams began the game well in the London Derby as Tottenham had some chances to take the lead. But Chelsea defended well. The visitors lost Thiago Silva to injury and Fofana replaced the Brazilian.
However, towards the end of the first half, both teams were involved in a bust-up and Ziyech took a swipe on the face of Emerson Royal after the Spurs defender had trickled from behind.
Referee Stuart Attwell calms the situation by giving a few players from both teams Yellow cards. The Referee went ahead to show Ziyech a red card for what he did and later consulted VAR after much pressure from the Chelsea players. Luckily, the decision was overturned to a yellow card which made spurs fans fume.
The decision was a big mistake from the Referee because several replays of the incident show that Ziyech was guilty of a red card offence as the Moroccan made contact with Emerson Royal’s face after being pushed.
