They put of top performances against the likes of Belgium, Croatia, Spain and Portugal. One player who has been outstanding for the Moroccans at the tournament is midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The 26-year-old who plays as a defensive midfielder has been the fulcrum of the Atlas Lions at the World Cup. He is the player with the most ball recoveries, most distance covered, and most passes completed at the tournament.
Amrabat who currently plays for Serie A outfit Fiorentina will be the target for most clubs in January following his terrific performance on the world stage, and one club who should go for his services is Chelsea.
Chelsea needs his kind of player in their team and he will be a long term like for like replacement for the ageing and injury-prone Ngolo Kante. The Blues currently do not have a reliable defensive midfielder, and getting Amrabat will help strengthen their ranks for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
