Six signings that could help Chelsea form a formidable lineup next season

Chelsea’s transfer plans are now taking shape in this transfer window. The Telegraph reports that Thomas Tuchel has now been promised up to six signings by the club’s new owners. The manager will have about £200 million to complete these signings and form a formidable squad that could be difficult for other teams to beat.
The first player that could arrive first among Tuchel’s targets is Matthijs de Ligt. Chelsea’s focus has been to get new players for the defensive department after losing two defenders. De Ligt might be the first to be signed as a deal for him is now being worked on. The Dutch defender is reportedly ready to play in the Premier League.
Since Chelsea need at least two defenders, the second player who could be signed is Jules Kounde. The Frenchman has been targeted by the Chelsea board for a while and could be signed to strengthen the defence. Apart from being a centre-back, Kounde can also play the wing-back role.
Tuchel has said that there is depth in the Chelsea midfield. That department of the squad may not need some recruitment. But a move for Declan Rice is still on the cards and it can still happen. According to Graeme Bailey of 90min, the new Chelsea owners have renewed their interest in the midfielder.
The next player who has been linked with a Chelsea move is Raheem Sterling. With Romelu Lukaku out of the club on loan, Tuchel wants a striker, but a type that doesn’t necessarily have to be a centre-forward. Sterling is an option, but he could also fit on the wings.
Another attacking option is Richarlison. Although there are many clubs in the race to sign the Brazilian, Chelsea can still snap him up. He would be the left-winger for Tuchel if he is signed.
The sixth player is Ousmane Dembele, who will become a free agent at the end of this month. Chelsea have cooled their interest in the winger in recent weeks. But with Tuchel now getting the go ahead to sign players, the manager could get the Barcelona winger.
With the addition of these six players, Tuchel would have some new faces in his lineup, which could be difficult for other teams to defeat next season.
