How Tuchel Can Select His Attackers Against Palace To Reward Past Effort and Maintain Momentum

Chelsea will take on Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon in the second Semifinal of the Emirates FA Cup at Wembley Stadium. Winning the FA Cup is Thomas Tuchel’s only hope of winning a major title this season after the Blues crashed out of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Thomas Tuchel might face a selection headache especially in the Attack as Romelu Lukaku who was unavailable for the trip to Madrid during the midweek is now back in the squad and is in contention to start against the Eagles but, we’ll take a look an approach that the Chelsea Boss could use to select his front 3 by rewarding hard work and maintaining the momentum of the Players.
Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Mason Mount are all fit but Thomas Tuchel might have to go for the trio of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Mason Mount against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
This is because Timo Werner and Mason Mount has been in an amazing form recently. The Former scored a brace against Southampton last weekend at Turf Moor in a league game and was one of the standout performers in Chelsea’s 3-2 Victory against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday despite the elimination.
Mason Mount also scored a goal and bagged an assist last weekend at Turf Moor against the saints and opened the score sheet against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Thomas Tuchel will be hoping to maintain the momentum by starting Mason Mount and Timo Werner against Crystal Palace so that the duo can further build on their performance.
For Kai Havertz, the German Forward also scored a goal last weekend but couldn’t find the back of the net against Real Madrid.
Despite getting no goal against Real Madrid, Thomas Tuchel might still start the Germany International as a means to reward his previous hard work.
Besides, Chelsea will need a fast Player that can press against the athleticism of Patrick Vieira’s sides, and Kai Havertz can offer that.
