Craig Burley has suggested Chelsea should sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen to partner RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku next season at Stamford Bridge.

Nkunku, 25, is an exciting French attacker that is reportedly on his way to west London next summer.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter last Saturday that the Leipzig star has agreed his transfer to Chelsea for the end of the season. The excited Blues fanbase are still waiting for official confirmation from the club, though.

Meanwhile, Graham Potter’s side are further linked with strengthening their forward line by targeting Napoli centre-forward.

90min reported back in November that 23-year-old Osimhen was top of the Chelsea wish list for the No.9 position.

Osimhen and Nkunku

ESPN pundit Burley loves the idea of an Osimhen-Nkunku strike partnership at Chelsea next season.

“I think him (Nkunku) and Osimhen would scare the living daylights out of people… can you imagine,” Burley told ESPN.

“I don’t know if he would leave Napoli, but you’re not getting him until the summer at the earliest.”

Nkunku’s extremely effective dropping into No.10 pockets and buzzing around the attack, so the thought of him playing off a target man like Osimhen is a good one.

According to Calciomercato, Osimhen could take around £87million to steal away from Napoli.

Chelsea have tried several different individuals in attack in recent years, but they’ve not had a clinical marksman leading the line since the days of Diego Costa.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang do in the second half of the season, but you can’t blame the club for looking at more forwards.
