Chelsea’s Star Reaches ‘Verbal Agreement’ With Real Madrid Over Free Transfer

Chelsea defender Rudiger has reportedly agreed terms with the Spanish giants ahead of a free transfer when his contract expires.
It’s believed he’ll earn over £200,000-per-week as a Los Blancos player and Jordan criticised the player on talkSPORT.

The former Crystal Palace chairman asked: “Have a look at some these conditions. I mean have you seen the conditions these people want?”
“200 grand a week, which by the way is outrageous amounts of money. He wants a £10 million sign on…
“Are you reading this? His ghastly wretched agent wants 10 million quid.
“I mean this is madness! Greed… it’s absolute greed. He’s going to Real Madrid because he’s greedy!
“End of discussion. Good riddance!”
Financial sanctions were imposed on Chelsea and current owner Roman Abramovich earlier this year and they’re currently unable to sign players to new contracts.
Rudiger and his agent were looking for a hefty signing-on fee which the Blues wouldn’t be able to offer.
The Germany international joined Chelsea from Roma in 2017 and is a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.
Manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed Rudiger would be leaving the club following Sunday’s 1-0 win over West Ham United.

“He informed me some days ago in a personal talk,” Tuchel told Sky Sports. “We gave everything and now we enter a situation where we can’t fight any more because of the sanctions and now Toni will leave.
“Our hands are tied. I don’t know what would have been the outcome [without the sanctions]. That’s his decision. It’s not a nice one for us but we don’t take it personally.
“He is a key figure and will stay a key figure for us. We will miss him a lot. He is a guy who gives people courage, who people are a bit afraid of.

“He plays 55 games a season for 90 minutes at an outstanding level.
“He was the top defender in the past one and a half years with me and I have nothing but respect for him.”
The 29-year-old has missed Chelsea’s last two games with a groin injury.
Chelsea are also set to lose Andreas Christensen on a free this summer, with Barcelona interested in his signature.
Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger Reaches ‘Verbal Agreement’ With Real Madrid Over Free Transfer

Rudiger, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the central defender is planning to leave on a free transfer.
A number of European football’s top clubs have been linked with the Germany international, including Manchester United, Barcelona, PSG and Real Madrid.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have won the race to sign Rudiger.
“Real Madrid have reached verbal agreement with Antonio Rudiger,” tweeted Romano.
“Contract not signed yet – but Real Madrid are now closing on Rudiger deal on a free: here we go soon! #RealMadrid. It’s gonna be a long-term deal. Final details to be discussed soon, before signing the contract.”
Romano later added: “The agreement between Toni Rudiger and Real Madrid has been reached on a four year deal, valid until June 2026. #RealMadrid
“It’s matter of final details before signing the contracts. No official announcement before the end of the season, even if Toni will sign in May.”
Rudiger has been with Chelsea since 2017 but has stalled on signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with the Premier League club reportedly unwilling to match his wage demands.
Tuchel was initially hopeful of convincing Rudiger to remain with the Blues.
However, he has now admitted that the sanctions imposed on club owner Roman Abramovich have made it virtually impossible to keep the defender.
Speaking after Sunday’s 1-0 win over West Ham, Tuchel said: “The situation is that he wants to leave the club. He informed me of this in a private talk.
“We gave everything – me and the club – but we could not fight anymore because of the actions.
“Without the sanctions we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied. We don’t take it personally. It is his decision.
“He is a key figure and will stay that way until the end of the season. But it is disappointing. We will miss him a lot. He gives courage in the dressing room.
“The kind everyone is afraid of, but the kind to play 50-55 games at an outstanding level. He is a top defender in the last one-and-a-half years for me.
“We then need to find another solution.”
Chelsea were very unlucky to get knocked out of the Champions League quarter finals by Real Madrid, after their stirring performance in the Bernabeu.

Had it not been for a moment of pure genius from Luka Modric then they would have won in normal time and then Karim Benzema did what Karim Benzema does and scored the crucial winner in extra time.
Whilst it was a good night for most in Chelsea’s yellow away kit, in terms of performance, Kante was rather lacking and was involved in both Real goals.
He also had to be saved by Rudiger on another occasion. With the game level on aggregate, and the Blues 2-0 up on the night, the French midfielder sloppily lost the ball to Toni Kroos in the middle of the pitch.

Kroos was able to get forward untroubled, once Kante had missed a tackle, and played a brilliant ball for Vinicius Junior, only for Rudiger to make a brilliant challenge, and then get to his feet and scream at his teammate.
It was only five minutes before that when Marcos Alonso thought he’d put his side ahead for the first time in the tie, only for VAR to rule it out, after Rudger’s header just after halftime had put them level.
Minutes after Timo Werner did put his side ahead, only for Modric to provide the ball of the night for Rodrygo to level things up on aggregate.
Kante gave the ball away in the lead up to the incident and when Benzema scored the winner it was the former Leicester City man who was late to close down a loose ball in midfield in the build up.
However Rudiger also slipped at the worst time, as Vinicius Junior played the cross in the box, towards the man Rudiger was marking, although Thierry Henry’s brilliant analysis showed why it might not have mattered
