The new owners of Chelsea led by Todd Boehly have made their first set of changes at the club since the takeover with a very positive message for Thomas Tuchel and others at the club.
Chelsea football club will fully support Thomas Tuchel and other coaches at the club ahead of the new season. This is according to the new owners, a consortium led by American investor Todd Boehly.
Boehly’s led consortium completed the takeover of the London club from former owner Roman Abramovich following the approval of the deal worth over £4.5m.
And what is the first move by the owners, the club has made some changes to their board of directors among other key changes.
“Chelsea Football Club announces new board of directors and leadership changes,” the club said in a statement on Wednesday morning.
Speaking on the changes, co-controlling owner, Todd Boehly, confirmed that they have begun the execution of their long-term plans for the club to ensure the Blues continue to compete at the top.
“As custodians of Chelsea FC, we now begin executing our long-term vision and plan for the Club, creating an outstanding experience for its passionate, loyal fans, and continuing to challenge for top honours in line with Chelsea FC’s decorated history,” he said.
“As the new era of the Boehly-Clearlake ownership begins, we are excited to build a championship organisation and grow Chelsea FC as a global platform,’ Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano, co-controlling owners, added.
As part of the changes made by Boehly and Co, Chelsea’s transfer guru, Marina Granovskaia, has left the club with Boehly taking over her position on an interim basis.
However, fans of the Blues have nothing to fear as Boehly has promised to back manager, Tuchel and other coaches at the club fully to ensure that the club continues to work towards its target during the transfer window.
‘Working together, side-by-side, we are firmly committed to winning, both on and off the pitch. For us, that effort has begun.’
‘We look forward to backing Thomas Tuchel, Emma Hayes and their teams, and will provide proactive, unbending support to make Chelsea’s loyal fans and our partners proud.
