Chelsea Ready To Break The Bank To Sign £115M Nigerians Super Star Striker Victor Osimhen

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Victor Osimhen over double his current salary at Napoli to convince the star to sign for the club ahead of interested Tottenham, who are also chasing the Nigerian international.

According to reports by Italian CalcioMercato, Todd Boehly is ready to break the bank once again to sign one of the hottest goalscoring prospects this season. The 24 year old is leading Napoli’s charge for their first Scudetto this century with 19 goals in 21 league games.

As per multiple reports, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is not eager to sell his most priced asset this summer. As a result, he has reportedly slapped a reported price tag of €130M (£115M) on the striker ahead of the summer transfer window. And as we have learnt from freehanded Boehly, this fee could actually be met by the Londoners.

The Blues do face stiff competition to sign the attacker though. Journalist Rudy Galetti has reported that Tottenham are also interested in signing the striker if Harry Kane decides to leave the club at the end of the season, a prospect that seems overly likely, as it seems like manager Antonio Conte could follow out the door too, a manager who doesn’t commit too long at football clubs.

Although it is yet to be seen if Spurs can cough out the funds to sign the Nigerian, and even if it turns out possible, Chelsea’s shopping spree under Boehly, even though he just came in, has been outrageous, and strongly suggests that the 10th place PL side could blow Daniel Levy out the water if it comes to a bidding war, and set another British record bid, which we’ve become too accustomed to this days.

Indeed even the imminent arrival of Christopher Nkunku might not stop the chase for Osimhen, as the Blues look to provide more attacking cover at the club, having only scored their first goal in months in their win against Leeds, and even the solitary goal was scored by Wesley Fofana, a centre back.

This move by Chelsea could throw Tottenham’s transfer plans off a cliff, as the 24 year old Nigerian has been seriously poised to replace Harry Kane if he should leave.
