Chelsea, others battle to sign World Cup best midfielder

Barcelona and clubs in the Premier League are now battling for the signature of the 2022 World Cup best midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat.
French president, Emmanuel Macron had pronounced Amrabat the best midfielder of the tournament when he visited Morocco’s dressing room after their defeat to France in the semi-finals.
Now the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham United and Newcastle United are queuing up to convince the Moroccan to lace his boots for them.
The Fiorentina midfielder was linked with Tottenham in the summer transfer window but the deal never happened.
Calciomercato reports that Barcelona want to sign the Moroccan as a replacement for ageing Sergio Busquets,
The report added, however, that Fiorentina’s priority is to exercise the option for the extension of Amrabat’s contract as soon as the player returns to Florence after his participation in the World Cup.
The Moroccan moved to the Italian side in January 2020 and has now made 78 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring one goal
