Chelsea has reportedly compiled a four-man shortlist of potential alternatives to Moises Caicedo, with one of the options being Leeds United star Tyler Adams. The club is exploring other options after facing challenges in their pursuit of Caicedo, and Adams is considered a cost-effective choice following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship. Alongside Adams, Chelsea is also believed to be considering Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus and Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga, who impressed with his performances in La Liga, scoring 11 goals last season. As they continue to reshape their squad, Chelsea is actively looking to bolster their midfield options and might pursue one of these four candidates as a potential alternative to Caicedo.

Chelsea has encountered difficulties in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo, leading them to explore alternative options. Frustrated by Brighton’s stance, the club, under the direction of Mauricio Pochettino, is now considering four potential players who feature on his shortlist as potential replacements for Caicedo

Chelsea are ready to consider alternative targets to Moises Caicedo if they are unable to agree a fee with Brighton for the midfielder, with Mauricio Pochettino desperate for more reinforcements before the new Premier League season begins. The Blues have already seen three bids rejected for the Ecuador international and with time running out, the west London club are prepared to move on to other targets with a four-man shortlist reportedly drawn up.

Moises Caicedo is eager to move from Brighton to Chelsea after spending two years at the Amex Stadium. Brighton’s manager, Roberto De Zerbi, has indicated that he is willing to let Caicedo leave once the club’s asking price of £100 million is met. However, Chelsea’s latest offer of £80 million falls short of Brighton’s valuation, leading De Zerbi to state that he is planning for the new season with Caicedo as part of his plans.

With negotiations stalling, Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, may need to explore other options. The club’s recruitment team has compiled a list of four players who could potentially strengthen their midfield, as reported by The Times. Pochettino expressed his desire to add experience to the squad, but the identified players are all relatively young, under the age of 25. The situation may prompt Chelsea to consider alternatives to bolster their midfield if the move for Caicedo does not materialize.

Moises Caicedo’s dream move to Chelsea may face obstacles, and the club is exploring alternative options. One potential candidate is Tyler Adams, a midfielder from Leeds United, who has become a more affordable choice after Leeds’ relegation to the Championship. Despite only joining Leeds from RB Leipzig for £23 million last summer, Adams is expected to seek a move elsewhere instead of playing in the second tier.

However, Adams is currently recovering from a hamstring injury and may not be fit for Leeds’ season opener against Cardiff. This could potentially delay Chelsea’s move for him until he has fully recovered.

In addition to Adams, Chelsea is considering other targets. Edson Alvarez, who was close to joining Chelsea last summer before Ajax blocked his £43 million transfer, is one of them. Another option is Southampton’s talented youngster, Romeo Lavia, who is valued at £50 million. However, Liverpool is also interested in Lavia, which might complicate Chelsea’s pursuit of the player.

Apart from considering Tyler Adams as a more cost-effective option, Chelsea has engaged in discussions regarding a potential move for Ajax’s young talent, Mohammed Kudus, aged 22. The club also remains interested in Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo, impressed by his performance in La Liga where he scored 11 goals last season.

Up to this point in the summer, Chelsea has made just one first-team signing, bringing in Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal for £30 million. Axel Disasi from AS Monaco is expected to be the next addition to the squad, with a £38 million transfer almost finalized following Wesley Fofana’s knee injury.

Chelsea’s recent recruitment has primarily focused on building for the future, investing approximately £60 million on young prospects like Lesley Ugochukwu, Angelo Gabriel, and Kendry Paez.

Despite the emphasis on youth signings, Chelsea is open to significant investment in Moises Caicedo, as they expect to raise over £250 million through player departures in the current transfer window. The coming weeks could see Chelsea making a substantial move for Caicedo.
