Back-to-back victories over relegation rivals Norwich city and Burnley were followed by a defeat at Leicester city before the international break, but the Bees have at least put some distance between themselves and the drop zone. Nonetheless, Brentford may suffer another loss today, as Chelsea has been strong at home in recent weeks.

Josh is back after a suspension, although Thomas Frank is missing Julian Jeanvier and Saman Ghoddos, the latter due to COVID. Despite a setback at Leicester city before the international break, Frank may still use with a 4-5-1 formation, with Yoane Wissa taking Sergi Canos’ place on the left. Their new signing Christian Eriksen, who scored a brace during the international break, is also expected to return to the starting lineup.

Chelsea manager Tuchel may start with a four-man backline against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League next week, therefore James may not be risked.
