2 World Cup Stars Chelsea Should Sign To Reinforce Midfield

Chelsea have been having midfield problems since the start of 2022, especially with frequent injuries to France star N’golo Kante, and Mateo Kovacic.
Out of all the midfielders that stood out in Qatar 2022 World Cup, Chelsea should look at signing these two world class talents to further boost their squad.
1- Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea were interested in the Benfica youngster before the start of the World Cup, following his exploits with the side in the Champions League this season. However, with his performances at this World Cup, it is only reasonable to assume that Benfica will not sell him on the cheap.
Enzo is a fantastic player with an eye for the offensive phase while having the grit and work rate to defend exceptionally well when needed. He was a mainstay in Argentine team that won the World Cup, and many were not surprised when he won the young player of the tournament award. Enzo Fernandes would improve Chelsea’s midfield by adding energy to their ageing group. He is also technically gifted enough to play further forward.
2 – Sofyan Amrabat
Many top clubs are already circling the Fiorentina man. Amrabat has surely earned himself a move this January and Chelsea can consider him a cheaper option to further add tenacity and technical brilliance to their midfield. At 26, Amrabat is just approaching his peak, which is good news for any club looking to sign the Moroccan enforcer.
